Title: Respiratory Care Practitioner Advanced Department Org: Respiratory Care - 109900 Employee Classification: B8 - Unclass Contingent AFSCME HSC Bargaining Unit: AFSCME HSC Primary Location: HSC H Shift: 8 Start Time: 1900 End Time: 0730 Posted Salary: 31.72-37.74 Float: False Rotate: False On Call: False Travel: False Weekend/Holiday: True Job Description: Advanced Respiratory Care Practitioner The Advanced Respiratory Care Practitioner (A.R.C.P.) has completed the National Board for Respiratory Care, Registry examination (R.R.T.), and is experienced in both routine and advanced critical respiratory care. Practical knowledge of the anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of the cardiopulmonary system is required to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients receiving Respiratory Care. ?The Advanced Respiratory Care Practitioner must demonstrate clinical application and theoretical knowledge consistent with the current literature and accepted practice of the profession, in the principles of cardiopulmonary disease and appropriate treatment, over the life span of the patient. Respiratory Care Practitioner Certified The Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) has completed the National Board for Respiratory Care Certification examination and is experienced in both routine and advanced critical respiratory care. Practical knowledge of the anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of the cardiopulmonary system is required to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients receiving Respiratory Care. The CRT must demonstrate clinical application and theoretical knowledge consistent with the current literature and accepted practice of the profession, in the principles of cardiopulmonary disease and appropriate treatment, over the life span of the patient. Respiratory Care Staff Technician The Respiratory Care Staff Technician (S.T.) is currently enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Care educational program and functions in a limited capacity, exclusively within the realm of routine respiratory care. Practical knowledge of the anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of the cardiopulmonary system is required to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients receiving respiratory care. The S.T. will function under the clinical supervision and guidance of the shift supervisor or charge therapist ?The Respiratory Care Staff Technician must demonstrate beginning and intermediate knowledge of clinical application and theoretical respiratory principles consistent with the current literature and accepted practice of the respiratory care profession. The Respiratory Care Staff Technician must be able to assess and interpret basic data about the patient’s health status to identify each patient’s age specific needs and provide care. Minimum Qualifications: Respiratory Care Practitioner Advanced (U39) ?Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), as recognized by the National Board for Respiratory Care. ?Current State Medical Board of Ohio Respiratory Care Professional license. ?CPR and BLS Certified through the American Heart Association. Certification must be active at time of hire and maintained throughout employment in position. ? Communication and other skills: Shall be in good physical and mental health. ?Shall be able to work all shifts with some rotation. ?
