Job Description Job Description At Bluestone Children’s Center, the Pediatric Physical Therapist (PT) is responsible to evaluate and assist children with their mobility: enabling them to move through their environment with the most independence as possible to help them run, jump, and play. They engage with children, their families, and the team to help improve gross motor skill development. Bluestone Children’s Center is focused on increasing the industry standard of center-based therapy services by delivering quality, evidence-based therapy that focuses on the individual child’s needs as well as encouraging family involvement and training. Our PTs work closely with the occupational therapists, speech pathologists, and behavior analysts that are on-site and share mutual patients. Reports to: Lead PT, Clinical Manager, Clinical Director Supervision Over: physical therapy students and PTA (when applicable) Position Type: part-time/ full-time Availability: Flexible with shifts but during daytime hours of 8am-6pm Minimum Qualifications: Education / Training: MSPT or DPT degree Certification, Licensure, Registration: Michigan State License in Physical Therapy required. Preferred BLS certification. Pediatric experience and autism knowledge preferred. Must be able to pass a background check. Desirable candidates must have a strong work ethic, excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work well as part of a team, strong written and verbal communication skills. Physical Requirements: Therapy activities may require playing on the floor or settings where the furniture is child size. Careful attention to the safety of the client and surroundings is required. Sudden and quick movements may be required. Walking, occasional running, standing, sitting, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, twisting, reaching above head, bending, and lifting to 50 pounds Sustained physical activity may be required for up to 60 minutes. Job Duties: This position provides physical therapy services to a pediatric population with a variety of disorders/delays. As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the physical therapist will: Evaluate and treat infants, children, adolescents, and teenagers with a variety of neurological and orthopedic disorders and disabilities. Establish appropriate treatment plans with age-appropriate goals and target time frames, which are discussed with family and mutually agreed upon. Perform daily documentation, update treatment plans, and produce regular progress reports. Collaborate with speech therapists, OTs, BCBAs and direct behavior technicians on a regular basis and update relevant parties of client progress. Work with family members and caregivers to help clients reach potential and incorporate strategies into daily routines. Maintain respect and confidentiality for all clients (abiding by HIPAA standards). Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional societies. Maintain and protect the well-being of all clients during treatment sessions and when emergency crisis situations arise. Other job duties as assigned by the Clinical Director and/or Director of Occupational Therapy. Additional Job Requirements: None currently. Salary/Hourly Rate: Commensurate with experience.
